In class, we have mainly discussed traditional music from Mexico, but never really went into the classical side. Rolando Villazon was born in Mexico City, where he spent many years studying music. He then travelled to the United States to study at prestigious university and most recently has spent his time in France. Villazon has become "one of the music world's most critically acclaimed and beloved stars and as one of the leading tenors of our day".
